Okay, so I only snapped up our first feast, on our first lunch. And I didn’t even manage to snap up the entire first feast. Hey, don’t look at me like that, it’s hard to take pictures while eating stuffing your face, okay? :P
Okay, so this one’s a shrimp (I think? I wasn’t listening properly…) dish that’s cooked on what I’m guessing is a bamboo stalk/shoot or something. You cut the shrimp off, mix it with rice noodles, put in some greens and wrap thing rice paper around. Viola! Fresh spring roll.

At first, I originally thought these were snails and I was kind of worried. I’d be willing to eat (almost…?) anything especially since I am a foreigner and guest of the country but man… snails? Turns out, they were some kind of clams. I didn’t take to them though… :-/ When I opened one, the clam juice inside was kind of red/brown and it reminded me of blood and that freaked me out. ^^;;

More spring rolls! They love spring rolls! Which they should because their spring rolls are amazing.

Clam soup.

Mini-shrimp cakes.

One of my fave dishes: Vietnamese pancakes. Looks so simple and yet, so yummy. :3 Basically, it’s beansprouts and shrimp wrapped in a thin egg crepe shell. Nomnomnom.

And that’s it… Pretty sad collection no? Especially since I was eating non-stop every single freaking day. I fail, I fail, I know -___-
Honorable Mentions:
PHO - I would never forget Pho! Did y’all know Pho is actually their usual breakfast fare? I tried having it for brekkie and although I loved it, I could not finish a whole bowl at all. Also, North and South Vietnam have different ways of serving Pho. In the south (like Hanoi), they don’t add beansprouts. I find that I like the northern approach, with the beansprouts, better. Regardless, I do love me some Pho!
BUFFET - We went to a buffet style restaurant for lunch once. About 700-800 pesos per person and, the piece de resistance: sharing allowed! Blew my mind. Haha. The food was great, too.
VIETNAMESE HALO-HALO - Not a fan of halo-halo really but I loved the Vietnamese version. They use coconut milk and a different kind of sago that had a a bit of a crunchy center. Yum.
VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE - Imagine this: after sightseeing for half a day, you go to the lakeside, sit down in a lakeside cafe and you order a Vietnamese iced coffee while watching locals and tourists alike. Tres chic no? Hehe.
